Asian Salad

Asian Salad

How much do you guys LOVE the dressing you get on the salads at asian places? Whether it’s a Chinese restaurant, or sushi, or Japanese steakhouse, they all have these great salads with the most amazing, tasty dressing!

I’d say most of the time, it’s a miso-based dressing. However, miso is soybean-based, and unfortunately, not considered “clean”. Bummer, dude.

Oh, hang on a second…I gotchu!! I did a bit of experimentation and guess what I figured out…you got it! A clean, tasty version of that yummy dressing! I found tahini is a great substitute for miso. It’s sesame seed paste and really yummy! If you wanted, you could also hit this with a teaspoon of coconut aminos…to give a hint of soy sauce flavor.

You can tweak the spiciness of this to your liking with the ginger and/or sesame oil–I’m a total wuss when it comes to spice, so I’ve got it fairly tame in this mixture.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp tahini
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 ½ tsp coconut sugar
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt

Mix everything together, and toss with spiralized zucchini and cucumbers, roughly an hour before serving. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of sesame seeds.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!
