Clean Worcestershire Sauce

One of the biggest tricks to clean eating is label reading. You’ve GOTTA read labels. It is unbelievable the places you will find hidden starches, unealthy preservatives, soy, processed sugar, and products of processing. All of which make our bodies unable to metabolize it properly and end up in fat storage. So the name of the game is replacement. Swapping out cleaner ingredients for the stuff we want to avoid.

One of the biggest group of culprits is condiments. So much stuff. And it’s not necessary for flavor. It’s for mass-production and years of shelf life. At the expense of ours.

The first condiment I took on was Worcestershire Sauce, because it turns out, lots of other condiments use it as an ingredient. And super easy, so it gave me the confidence to keep on trucking.

Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon organic cane raw brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook about 45 seconds until fragrant. Cool to room temperature, store in airtight container.
