Seasoned Salt

I have to tell you, when I started eating clean, label reading was where it was at. I knew what things I needed to eliminate, and so anything in my spice cabinet, pantry, cupboards and refrigerator went under deep scrutiny. I also have to tell you, Seasoning Salt was one of my go-to, all-purpose seasoning blends. It went into and on just about everything. So much so, we bought it in bulk, 2.5 pound containers at a time. So imagine my heartbreak to read the ingredients label, only to find SUGAR is in it. Sugar! In seasoned salt! Are you kidding me??

So, I took to Google, looked up the “recipe” so I could get the proportions right, and calculated how to make up my very own blend, sans sugar. And guess what? It’s awesome! Tastes better than *that* name-brand–and lasts a lot longer, too. And knowing I would never, ever use it again, I dumped the entire container into the trash–but so as to not be terribly wasteful, I’ve repurposed the container.

Behold, my blend!!

I’ve also done the math for you, for both small and large batches.

Enjoy!
